Documentary Style for a Montreal Garden Wedding
Raphaëlle and Guillaume’s day was the perfect example of why I’m obsessed with outdoor weddings near Montreal. There is something about that open-air energy that just lets people be.
I’m all about capturing the day exactly how it felt- true-to-color, vibrant, and heavy on the candid moments. No stiff posing. Just the actual energy of the celebration. I document the energy of the party and the quiet, intentional moments in between.
From the sun-soaked ceremony to the chaos on the dance floor, this was a masterclass in how to do a "garden wedding" with an editorial edge. These two didn't perform for the camera; they just lived their day, and I was there to build the visual archive. Timeless wedding photos highlighting the emotions, the fun, the connection and so much love.
If you're looking for a Montreal wedding photographer to document your day with a candid, editorial edge, I’d love to hear from you.
Black and white
There’s a certain depth to black and white that digital colour just can't touch. I love leaning into these frames because they strip away the distractions and leave you with nothing but the raw emotion and the movement. It’s about creating a story that feels less like a wedding gallery and more like a timeless, editorial narrative.
The Ceremony Under a Weeping Willow Tree
Literally an hour before the ceremony, the rain cleared, the sun came out, and they got to have the outdoor moment they actually wanted. They tied the knot under this massive weeping willow tree, surrounded by their family and friends. Being there to document that transition from the morning’s rain storm to the absolute glow of the ceremony is exactly why I love the unscripted nature of a wedding day.
Some quiet moments while the bride and groom prepared and got ready for their wedding day.
Outdoor Wedding Venues Near Montreal
When looking for outdoor wedding locations in Montreal, I always recommend finding spots with natural shade- like the weeping willow trees we used here- to keep the light soft and candid.
As a Montreal wedding photographer, some of my favourite outdoor wedding venues include: Château Saint-Agnès, Maison Bolton, StoneHaven Le Manoir, Manoir Hovey.
The Iconic + High Energy Wedding Party
What I love most as a Montreal wedding photographer is matching the shifting energy of the day. There’s a specific pivot that happens- moving from the special, quiet emotions of the ceremony into the effortless mingling of cocktail hour, and finally, just letting loose.
When the evening hits and the energy spikes, I’m right there on the dance floor with you. I want to feel the bass and the movement so I can capture it properly. Whether it’s the sophisticated vibe of the drinks or the absolute high-energy grit of the party, I’m matching that pace. My goal is to build an archive that feels like a shortcut back to how the night actually felt—unfiltered, loud, and completely iconic. The party of the year.
